WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Funding toward a city relocation project that offers a stipend to those who move to West Lafayette was approved at Tuesday morning's West Lafayette Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.
"The project itself is (incentive) for people to relocate to West Lafayette," Erin Easter, West Lafayette director of development said. "So there is a small stipend that's involved. It's greater if you're relocating to the Discovery Park district where (the Purdue Research Foundation) and Tmap have coordinated with IEDC on funding...
"The program requirements are high-earners who can work remotely and are willing to relocate to West Lafayette."
The approved funds between the City of West Lafayette and Purdue Research Foundation are not-to-exceed $50,000. Read more about the project at www.prf.org/researchpark/amenities/dual-careers/index.php.
The City of West Lafayette approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the city's Department of Development and Country Villa Apartments for a proposed CDBG-funded playground.
According to the memorandum, "The City agrees to partner with Country Villa...for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Capital Improvement Project in 2022 for the community playground project at Country Villa Apartments with the Department of Development at the City. Country Villa agrees to oversee the park-design, construction management, and the implementation of the park installation and final inspection during the duration of the project to completion."
The earliest expected date this project can begin is July 1, according to a memo to the city.
