Friends of Blooms, Birds, Bugs, and of course, Prophetstown State Park -

It’s that time of year again. The greenhouse is going strong and plants are ready for sale. You have multiple opportunities to buy plants AND at multiple places. Read over the plant list and look for detailed info about bloom color, height, soil types, and sun requirements. We also recommending BUYING SMART!

Saturday, May 13 - Annual Native Wildflower & Plant Sale at Prophetstown State Park – Buy straight out of the greenhouse from 9am-4pm! All wildflowers for sale are native to Indiana and are great growers – and there’s a great reason to buy native - hardy, long-bloomers; require less watering than non-native “store-bought” plants; tolerates poor soil; nectar plants for beautiful butterflies; seed plants for Indiana birds. There’s over 40 species of plants to choose from- quantities may vary and some are limited (but in general, there are thousands to choose from!) The greenhouse is located at the park’s Visitor Center. The Farm will have heirloom and organic garden plants for sale in the greenhouse too. Cash, check, and charge accepted.

There may be additional plant sale days at the Lafayette and West Lafayette Farmer’s Markets; however time is very limited due to these plants wanting to get in ground by early June.
